**Xiaomi’s Latest Budget Phone: Redmi 14C Now Available in Nepal**

Xiaomi’s Redmi 14C, the latest addition to its budget-friendly smartphone lineup, has officially made its way to the international market, including Nepal. This device stands out with its unique design, large display, and impressive battery life, making it a compelling option for budget-conscious consumers. Let’s dive deeper into the Redmi 14C, exploring its features, specifications, and pricing in Nepal.

**Redmi 14C Overview**

**Design and Display**

The Redmi 14C marks a noticeable departure from its predecessor, the Redmi 13C, with a fresh design. The most striking change is the large circular camera island positioned at the centre of the back panel, replacing the squircle design seen on the 13C. The phone is available in three elegant colour options in Nepal: Dreamy Purple, Sage Green, and Midnight Black.

The device features a massive 6.88-inch LCD display, making it one of the largest screens in its price segment. However, the display resolution is limited to HD+ (720 x 1,640 pixels), which may not be the sharpest for a screen of this size. Despite this, the panel offers a smooth 120Hz refresh rate and a 240Hz touch sampling rate, ensuring a responsive and fluid user experience. It also supports 8-bit colour depth, 70% NTSC colour gamut coverage, and a peak brightness of 600 nits, making it suitable for everyday use.

**Performance**

Under the hood, the Redmi 14C is powered by the MediaTek Helio G81 Ultra chipset, a debut processor that appears to be an updated version of the Helio G80 from 2020. While the core architecture and peak frequencies remain similar, the G81 Ultra is expected to bring improvements in efficiency and performance.

The phone comes in three configurations:

- 4GB RAM + 128GB storage

- 6GB RAM + 128GB storage

- 8GB RAM + 256GB storage

It supports memory extensions of up to 8GB, allowing users to virtually expand the RAM for better multitasking. Storage can also be expanded via a microSD card, though the upper limit for expansion is unspecified. On the software front, the Redmi 14C runs on Xiaomi’s HyperOS out of the box, offering a smooth and feature-rich user experience.

 **Camera**

At first glance, the Redmi 14C appears to have a quad-camera setup, but in reality, it features only two functional lenses. The circular camera module houses a 50 MP primary sensor, accompanied by an auxiliary lens of unspecified resolution. The other two cutouts are purely cosmetic, with one serving as an LED flash and the other displaying the “50MP AI Camera” branding.

For selfies and video calls, the phone sports a 13MP front-facing camera housed in a centre-aligned waterdrop notch. While the camera setup is modest, it should suffice for casual photography and social media use.

**Battery and Connectivity**

The Redmi 14C packs a hefty 5,160mAh battery, ensuring long-lasting usage on a single charge. It supports 18W fast charging via a USB Type-C port, allowing users to quickly top up the battery when needed.

In terms of connectivity, the phone supports dual SIM cards, 4G LTE, dual-band Wi-Fi, Bluetooth v5.4, and NFC (in select regions). It also retains the beloved 3.5mm headphone jack, catering to users who prefer wired audio devices. For security, the device features a side-mounted fingerprint sensor and face unlock functionality.
